Senior citizens

Travellers aged 65 and older can travel with a discount. There are subscriptions available to make travel even cheaper. You can also use the age-based discount when traveling with your debit card or OV-chipkaart.

Affordable Off-peak travel

In cooperation with a number of provinces, we offer travellers aged 65 and over season tickets that allow unlimited free travel for a year at a discounted rate.

            With these subscriptions, you must be 65 or older at the time you purchase the subscription. If you are turning 65 soon, we recommend that you purchase the product after your birthday. Otherwise, you won't get the discount. 
        

Age discount

Are you 65 years of age or older? Then you are entitled to a 34% discount when travelling by bus. This discount is valid all day.

What do you need to do?

You can travel with age discount if you use a personal OV-chipkaart or if you check in and out with your debit card (OVpay).

Your date of birth is on your personal OV-chipkaart. The card then automatically calculates your age discount when you check in and out. Apart from checking in and out, you do not have to do anything else.
